Bac Lieu Province is about 290km from Ho Chi Minh city. It shares its border with Can Tho City and Soc Trang Province to the north, the East Sea to the south, Ca Mau and Kien Giang provinces to the west.
 
Bac Lieu is the convergence of three lines of culture - Kinh, Khmer and Chinese, so tourists can discover their diverse customs and culture.
 
Travel to Bac Lieu, you should go visiting Bac Lieu Bird Sanctuary in Hiep Thanh Commune, Bac Lieu Town, which is home to water birds mainly teal, stork, heron, night heron and cormorant. Huge flocks of birds leave the wetlands early in the morning and return to their nests in the sanctuary in the evening, as the night birds fly off to feed. The bird sanctuary is a salt-marsh ecosystem.

Tac Say Church Bac Lieu ( Nhà Thờ Cha Diệp)
 
Tac Say Church in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu, commonly dubbed as Father Diep Church, has been in existence for nearly one century and linked to the life of Truong Buu Diep, a highly respected Vietnamese Catholic priest who is believed to have died in 1946 while protecting his followers during the war.
 
Located in Tan Phong Commune, Gia Rai District and right on National Highway 1A towards the country’s southern tip of Ca Mau, the church was constructed in 1925 during the French colonial time.
 
It has undergone several times of restoration thanks to contributions by generous Catholic followers nationwide to make it the largest and most striking cathedral in the Mekong Delta as witnessed today.
 
The church has served as not only a worshipping place for parishioners to practice their religious beliefs but also the resting place of Priest Truong Buu Diep, whose remains are buried in the church campus.
 
Additionally, the church also houses a five-storey pilgrimage center which is open round the clock to cater to pilgrims who wish to stay overnight at no charges. The center is capable of accommodating about 600 pilgrims at a time.
 
Early March every year, throngs of pilgrims from different parts of the country will flock to Tac Say Church in droves to burn incense and commemorate the death anniversary of the priest who gave up his life to safeguard his Catholic followers and made stringent efforts to the development of Catholicism in the Mekong Delta.
 
Bac Lieu Bird Sanctuary
 
It is loacated on Cao Van Lau str, Nha Mat ward, Bac Lieu city. It is 7 kms away from the center of Bac Lieu city.
 
According to documentation of Bac Lieu Bird Sanctuary Nature Reserve, in the first, it was a coastal rich and diversified salt forest floor with the natural salt-marsh ecosystem. As a part of the remaining forest floor along the East Sea, it is increasingly far from the sea due to alluvial deposits. In 1962, it was looked after, protected and controlled by a household. Then, the local authority realized that it is a precious natural property, so they have a step by step investment.
 
The Sanctuary is the important home of several water birds, mainly teal, stork, heron, night heron and cormorant. Each flock of birds flies for food in the early morning and returns their nests in the Sanctuary in the evening while the night birds start their journeys, which agitate the atmosphere of the Sanctuary.
 
Over nearly one century, the Sanctuary is the place where generations of birds are born, usually in the rainy season, and developed. There are currently some 40,000 birds and 5,000 nests, according to preliminary statistics. Birds mostly gather here during the rainy season between May and October.
 
Bac Lieu Wind Power Farm
 
Wind power farm is located in Vinh Trach Dong commune, Bac Lieu city. It is 18 kms away from the center of Bac Lieu city.
Construction of Bac Lieu wind power project with a capacity of 99.2 MW and annual average output of 320 GWh was officially started on September 9, 2010.
 
The project with an investment level of 5,000 billion VND including 62 wind turbines by capacity of 1.6 MW each divided into 2 phases. The first phase with a capacity of 16 MW (10 turbines). Bac Lieu wind power farm has make an important contribution to developing the trade and tourism sectors of the Bac Lieu province.
 
Salt Fields
 
The Salt field is loacating on Long Dien Dong commune, Dong Hai district, Bac Lieu Province. It is 37 kms away from the center of Bac Lieu city.
 
Bac Lieu is one of 4 provinces providing salt mainly for the Mekong Delta; it’s estimated that about 200,000 to 250,000 tons of salt are produced per year. There are two big salt districts here: Hoa Binh and Dong Hai – in comparison of salt fields, Dong Hai District gets the win for having the largest salt production area that reaches 2,300 ha.

This is a two-story palace characterized by classic & unique design featuring a long, great hall, winding stairs, and spacious rooms.
